Can children go on safari?

A lot of the safari camps have a minimum age limit of 12 years old, although some are more leaneant and will accept children at 8 years or older, each camp and company and even country is different. Southern Africa tending to be more strict than Eastern Africa, for example.

Going on safari is an incredible opportunity for young children and a chance for them to learn about animals and an environment so different to their own. There are certain camps that are more geared to having children and family safaris and we’ll be able to help you choose those camps.

When going on safari with your family, we highly recommend bringing one of our private guides with you, for continuity and building a rapport and relationship with your children as they move from camp to camp. We’ll discuss all these options with you, just give us a call or drop us an email.
